David Gillick Sets New 400m Mark Source: www.athleticsireland.ie/
Double European indoor 400m champion David Gillick broke the Irish 400m record in Geneva earlier today. His winning time of 45.23 betters that of Paul McKee whose time of 45.58 has been in the record books since July 2002.
Gillick ran 46.33 in Glasgow last weekend and felt he ran good until he faded around 320m into the race. That blow-out has obviously benefited him immensely.
This new record follows fast on the heels of Paul Hession who set new figures for 100m last week.
The season just gets better and better!!
Menawhile Joanne Cuddihy won a low key 200m race in Vancouver in a time of 23.80.
